Hello friends. Growing up just two blocks from Packard Hill, later to become Arbutus Park, my friends and I played all year round there. I recall in the late 1950's collecting signatures in the neighborhood in support of installing a water fountain (Bubbler) in the ravine . The City of Appleton eventually did install the Bubbler and a Slide with Swings as well. For a bunch of kids we did pretty well. I wanted you folks to know some of the history of Arbutus Park. I have many fond memories of Packard Hill and I am pleased you developed it so nicely.

Just wanted to shout out to the volunteers who did a heroic job today spreading soil and seed and rolling out erosion matting along the SW side of Arbutus Park. It is quite impressive to see, and everyone should take a look!

Tuesday February 16th is Primary Election Day for the 1st Ward, it is very slow on these Primary Elections and it affords a great opportunity to register to vote and no crowds to fight. If you are not registered in the 1st Ward come to St. Mary's Community Center on Tuesday February 16th and register. Good Neighbors are involved and they VOTE! Bring your photo ID and a power, water, phone bill with your current address from a recent month prior to Election Day and you can register any questions, post to this Thread...........EVERYONE should VOTE!
